About

Welcome!

I’m Cassie—Founder and Pattern Designer for Ada Mae Crochet.

I have been crocheting for about five years, and it’s always been so much more than a hobby for me..

I have a brain that runs at lightning-speed, and often in about 30 different directions at once. When I crochet, it feels like my hands find the pace of my mind, adding a little rhythm—some structure. A few rows into a repetitive and familiar pattern and the thoughts have softened, finding a little more order.

I’ve come to see it as a way to acknowledge my body’s ache for something predictable when it is otherwise swimming in things out of my control.

If this resonates with you, come hang out with me. I develop crochet patterns that are as much about the process as the finished product—ones you can use to feel grounded when your mind is running—think satisfying row repeats, collections that carry a theme you can grow to become familiar with, and finished designs that you just want to stare at all day.

Let’s find something healing together.

(Disclaimer: I am not a doctor or a mental health professional, just a person who lives with an often swirling mind who wants to share the tools that have helped me bring it all back down to earth)

Lots of love!

Cassie 🤍

This is Evan!

Evan is my dye-obsessed husband, who has been hand-dying products for years. This is a hobby of his that has also been very therapeutic–experimenting with colors to find the ones that capture him the most. Dying yarn has been such a fun way to overlap our hobbies!

You can find him on Instagram as @theflydyer !
